Arklow Water Supply Scheme

This project involves design and implementation of a water supply system to the rapidly developing town of Arklow. A preliminary report assessed demands, sources and infrastructure requirements to meet the planned growth of the town. The report included cost estimates and an appropriate phasing strategy for implementation of the works. The preliminary report made recommendations for the development of groundwater sources, additional treatment capacity and the construction of additional storage and new mains. An emergency leak detection project was carried out to identify and repair leaks in an effort to overcome short-term supply deficiencies. Groundwater well drilling has recently been completed and detailed design of the pipelines treatment and storage for the scheme is underway.
