Clontarf Promenade
PH McCarthy are currently preparing an Environmental Impact Statement for the laying of 8 km of watermain along the coast road from Fairview to Sutton and the development of 4 km of flood defences on Clontarf Promenade to protect properties on the coast road from flooding due to predicted sea level rises associated with climate change. Potential impacts from the development are likely to occur largely during the construction stages and are associated with the presence of contaminated land, the proximity of the development to designated areas of conservation, disruption of traffic and temporary loss of amenity areas. Measures to mitigate potential impacts will focus on appropriate construction measures including minimal excavation and disturbance of contaminated material and good traffic management.
