Shanganagh & Bray Main Drainage Scheme

McCarthy Hyder Consultants was appointed as Client Representative for this scheme. The project was divided into two contracts. The first Contract is for the design, construction, and operation of a new wastewater treatment plant at Shanganagh and the upgrade of the existing Bray Pumping Station. Contract 2 is the construction of a 6km transfer pipeline and 5,000m³ stormwater storage tank.

The wastewater treatment works will have a capacity to treat a population equivalent of 186,000. This will meet the medium term needs of the area with expansion to 248,000 at a future date. Treated effluent from the works will meet the requirements of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive and ensure that water quality at the bathing beaches in the area complies with the Bathing Water Regulations.
