Cherry Orchard School
The project consists of a 4,400m2 national school and associated facilities. The entire project is a pilot scheme for a teaching facilities in severely deprived areas; additional facilities, including a canteen/servery, baby/toddler facilities; early start unit and a special care unit.
The mechanical and electrical services installation involved new gas, water and electrical supplies to the site, CCTV surveillance, two stop lift, power, fire alarm, intruder alarm, lighting, heating, ventilation and piped services. The design requirement from the Department of Education required that all electrical and mechanical services were recessed into concrete and block throughout the entire project. This included lighting fittings, radiators, heating pipes and conduits.
